With the aim of making science more appealing to secondary school students and encouraging them to choose a career in STEM, EspaiCiència, which is organised by the FCRI in the Saló de l’Ensenyament exhibition in collaboration with Fira de Barcelona, shares the research and innovation being carried out Catalan universities, research centres and companies in a fun and practical way.

More than 50,000 high school students have visited this scientific education centre for 15- to 18-year-olds since its launch in 2009.

Participants can enjoy a full programme of games, talks, scientific demonstrations and competitions, which take place at the different stands.

They are shown the latest developments in genetics, robotics, virtual reality, physics, engineering applications and the progress of palaeontology, among other disciplines.
