The Government of Catalonia, through the FCRI, convenes the Catalonian National Research Awards in order to promote social recognition of science and the activity of researchers, sponsors, businesspeople, entrepreneurs and communicators with links to our nation.
1. Catalonian National Research Award
Every year this award is given to one researcher from the Catalonian Research and Innovation System who are developing his or her research activity outside Catalonia and has made a significant and international contribution to scientific progress in any field: human and social sciences, life and health sciences, engineering and technology and experimental science.
– The prize consists of a trophy by the ceramicist and sculptor Jordi Serra and 40,000 Euros.
2. Catalonian National Research Award for Young Talent
This award aims to encourage and acknowledge young researchers (until 40 years) who have stood out during their professional career for the quality and excellence of their scientific and research work.
– The prize consists of a trophy by the ceramicist and sculptor Jordi Serra and 15,000 Euros.
3. Catalonian National Research Award for Knowledge Transfer Promotion
This award aims to recognise initiatives, organisational models, procedures, programmes, or services that have a significant impact on the transfer model.
– The prize consists of a trophy by the ceramicist and sculptor Jordi Serra and 10,000 Euros.
4. Catalonian National Research Award for Scientific Communication
This award recognizes the best scientific communication and dissemination initiative in Catalonia across all available formats (including printed or digital publications, radio or television shows, websites, exhibitions and fairs), as well as the professionals working in these media.
– The prize consists of a trophy by the ceramicist and sculptor Jordi Serra.
5. Catalonian National Research Award for Scientific Sponsorship
This award is an institutional acknowledgement of the people, companies or other entities responsible for generating or donating philanthropic resources for promoting or supporting scientific projects in Catalonia.
– The prize consists of a trophy by the ceramicist and sculptor Jordi Serra.
6. Catalonian National Research Award for Public-Private Partnership in Research and Innovation
This award acknowledges the activities of public-private partners in research and innovation activities in Catalonia.
– The prize consists of a trophy by the ceramicist and sculptor Jordi Serra.
7. Catalonian National Research Award for Creating a Science-based Enterprise
This award acknowledges a science-based company created within the Catalan public or private research system, whose activity has emerged from academic environment.
– The prize consists of a trophy by the ceramicist and sculptor Jordi Serra.
