Thesis in 4 minutes

The competition “Present your thesis in 4 minutes” is organised by the FCRI, the Ministry of Research and Universities of the Government of Catalonia and the 12 Catalan universities. The competition challenges PhD students in any scientific discipline to explain their research to a non-specialist audience in four minuts or less with easy to comprehend language.

For the 2024 edition, 12 finalists—8 women and 4 men—advanced through the preliminary and final qualifying stages at their universities, where 154 doctoral candidates took part.

The winners of the 7th edition are:

1st prize: Mireia Baylina Melé, from the International University of Catalonia

2nd prize: Gala Pujol Infantes, from the Autonomous University of Barcelona

3rd prize: Adrià Vilalta Videgain, from Rovira i Virgili University
